Welcome To the Home of
Stilwell Basenjis
Richard and I got our first basenji in 1974. Before we got married, I had been working in a
grooming shop and enjoyed the job, and decided I would like to have a poodle. My birthday
was looming on the horizon, and Richard said if we were going to get a dog he wanted a real dog -- a basenji.
I had no clue what a basenji was and since it was my birthday, I really wanted a poodle.
We got a
basenji, and thus began the slide into the basenji world.
Since then, Richard and I have bred many dual champions, conformation champions
and field champions.
We only breed a litter of pups every 2-3 years.
Richard and I have been all-breed ASFA and AKC lure coursing judges since 1995.
We are currently members of the Tulsa Sighthound Association, the Basenji Club of America,
and the Dallas-Ft. Worth Basenji Club.
The following pages include a little history about our dogs, past and present.
Thanks for dropping by to visit our basenjis.

But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
